CoffeeVac 0.8L - 250g Coffee Storage

It is an airtight container that does not stop at airtight: press the lid and the air already sitting on top of your beans is pushed out, rather than sealed in with them.

What the 0.8L is for

CoffeeVac V 0.8L - adds a second valve for faster degassing. Fresh beans give off CO2 hardest in the first 24 to 48 hours after roasting, and the extra valve lets that happen quicker. If you buy from a roaster within days of the roast date, this is the version to reach for. If you buy supermarket coffee that has been resting for weeks, the standard model does the same job.

How much coffee fits in a 0.8L CoffeeVac?

About 250 g of whole beans, which is the standard bag size from most roasters. Ground coffee packs a little denser, so you may fit slightly more. Leave the beans room to move - a container filled to the brim seals less reliably than one filled to the shoulder.

Should coffee be stored in an airtight container?

Yes. Oxygen is what turns coffee flat and papery, so keeping air away from it matters more than anything else you can do at home. An airtight lid keeps new air out. A CoffeeVac also removes the air already inside, which is why sealed coffee holds its character noticeably longer.

What is the difference between the CoffeeVac and the CoffeeVac V?

Both have the patented 2-way valve. The V adds a second valve so freshly roasted beans can vent their CO2 faster in the first day or two after roasting. Everything else - capacity, seal, materials - is identical.

Is the CoffeeVac a true vacuum seal?

No. It is a strong partial vacuum, created by a one-button airlock rather than a pump motor. That is enough to remove most of the oxygen sitting around your coffee, which is what actually matters day to day.
